Job Description:
We are looking for a versatile and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accountant with additional responsibilities in general administration and administration of homeowner association. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small company environment and can handle multiple tasks with efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accountant:
- Record and manage all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
- Process and manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and other SARS-related documentation.
- Administer payroll, including calculating salaries, benefits, and statutory deductions (PAYE, UIF, SDL).
- Generate financial reports, such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Assist with budgeting and cash flow monitoring.
2. General Administration:
- Manage homeowner association, rules and regulations and administration.
- Manage and maintain organized filing systems for documents, records, and correspondence.
- Handle petty cash and reimburse employee expenses.
- Order and manage office supplies and coordinate with service providers.
- Assist with scheduling, meeting preparations, and general office management tasks.
3. Rental Administration:
- Maintain accurate records of rental agreements, tenant information, and payment schedules.
- Prepare and issue invoices for rental payments and follow up on arrears.
- Coordinate maintenance requests and communicate with tenants as needed.
- Support the renewal process for leases and ensure compliance with rental agreements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and general administration.
- Experience with tax law for companies and trust.
- Familiarity with rental/property administration is an advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of South African tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, UIF), company tax and trust law.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Other Requirements:
- Diploma or certification in bookkeeping or accounting
- Must live in the Helderberg Area
Job Type: Part-time
