This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, innovative and results oriented Leader with a strong commercial background, to join our team. The role will report directly into the CEO of Africa Talent and can be based either in South Africa, Johannesburg or in The Netherlands Amsterdam.
The successful candidate will be able to discover or create new opportunities to enhance organisational results, seek and take on new challenges with enthusiasm and establish and maintain positive working relationships with others to achieve Africa Talent’s goals.
As Operations lead, you will be responsible for overseeing Africa Talent’s operations, procedures, and support systems, including financial management, risk processes, administration and technology. In addition, together with the Africa Talent CEO, you will be responsible for building and developing relationships across Deloitte’s member Firm’s in order to position Africa Talent as a leading talent hub which can supply high skilled resources to meet specific client demands.
As Operation lead you will focus on ensuring that all operational elements of the member Firm relationship relationships run effectively.
Job Description
The Operations lead will be accountable to CEO for the following:
- Provide management direction including contributing to the development of strategic plans and the development and implementation of policies.
- Oversee daily operations across Africa Talent, working with the respective Leaders across the business to ensure sustained and optimized performance.
- Ensure that team virtual connections and security is maintained and working smoothly through regular system checks and managing the relationships with key stakeholders in Africa and with the receiving Member firm.
- Together with the CEO, build and maintain mutually beneficial global relationships across the member Firm network to ensure that the strategic objectives of Africa Talent are driven
- Be able to evaluate business performance by analysing and interpreting data and metrics.
- Lead annual planning, pricing, and budgeting process including allocation of financial resources, financial reporting, while contributing to resource mobilisation.
- Manage financial management and reporting for programme and institutional expenditure against approved plans/budgets.
- Ensure timely development, refinement and upgrading of financial and operational management systems to ensure effective and robust management Africa Talent’s financial reporting.
- Ensure mitigation of risks through accurate maintenance of accurate financial reporting and risk mitigation strategies to ensure alignment with all Deloitte’s requirements.
- Provide oversight on administration and operational functions that fall under enablement support
- Oversea the risk and legal processes with Africa Talent which include but are not limited to the DTIC. incentives, Companies Act requirements, Global member firm requirements to operate as a centre and provide services to other member firms.
Qualifications
- CA (SA) or MBA or Relevant Commercial/Science or Technology Postgraduate Degree from a recognised university.
- Be a member in good standing registered with a relevant professional body.
Skills Required:
- 8- 10 years relevant working in a related or client facing role.
- Possess strong financial management experience and skills including but not limited to budgeting/forecasting and, stakeholder management.
- Previous demonstrated experience as a commercial leader.
- Demonstrated experience working within a global network where your focus has been on working across member Firms to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships and to ensure operational effectiveness in the model.
- Be proficient in accounting systems, grants, and financial management systems.
- Have knowledge and experience in design, implementation and monitoring systems of financial management, controls, and accounting systems.
- Have demonstrable experience in relationship management across a professional services organization.
- Have ability to link financial results to programme and operational performance drivers and provide value add insights to an organization.
- Previous experience in a client-facing role within a Consulting or professional services organisation
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able deliver multiple engagements on time and within budget
- Demonstrated experience working across different cultures in a global network which has provided you with an appreciation for diversity inclusive of cultural diversity and local BEE regulations.
- Proven ability to make decisions and the right judgement calls in complex projects and situations.
- Creates a culture of trust, ownership and accountability across teams and projects.
- On the job coaching for managers and professional staff and taking accountability for multiple large engagements.
- Manages large engagement / multiple engagement deadlines holistically, identifying risks and escalating.
- Drives continuous improvement.
- Custodian of the business, shaping offerings that we need to proactively take to the market.
