PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of this role is to manage and repair all electrical equipment and wiring for the service yard.
SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
?Ensure that the plant is in working order from an electrical perspective to minimise downtime and faults in the Service Yard and Refinery areas.
?Identify, repair and perform effective maintenance on breakdowns timeously and accurately.
?Regularly perform proactive maintenance on equipment to deter any failures in adherence with scheduling
?Perform planned maintenance on equipment to deter any failures in adherence with scheduling.
?Adhere to all SHEQ legislations regarding safety and machine maintenance. Produce safety cards as required.
?Liaise with buyers where necessary or source for parts, spares and equipment for general maintenance .
?Assist others where necessary in the maintenance of equipment and machinery and train other staff on the job where required.
?Supervise and support the assistants or contractors when working on a task.
?Regularly perform lockouts on systems where required.
?The incumbent will be expected to work on standby and shifts as and when required in the service yard and refinery.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- National certificate(NQF level4) in Electrical Engineering with a recognised Trade Test in Electrical.
- Minimum of 5 -7 years working experience, preferably in a FMCG or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with HT switching will be advantageous.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :
?Intermediate proficiency—Microsoft suite (Excel, Email, Word) and SAP.
?Analytical skills.
?Ability to interpret electrical information to users.
?Planning and organising skills.
?Ability to identify and solve problems, including fault finding.
KNOWLEDGE:
?Strong knowledge of plant compliance to ensure that machinery is within standard.
?Discern which tools or test equipment would be most applicable for a job.
?Ability to identify risks within equipment maintained.
?Strong knowledge in HT switching.
?Ability to read drawings and complete work accordingly.
?SHEQ knowledge—Understand and apply relevant SHEQ practices and procedures.
