Aon Re Africa is recruiting a Broker Support Administrator in the South Africa Treaty team based on a hybrid basis, from our Head Office in Sandton.
The Broker Assistant supports Treaty Brokers in all aspects of Treaty Reinsurance placement including and not limited to administrative tasks, client (internal & external) servicing, preparing RFP’s and technical analysis. This role is designed to build the skills and experience necessary to progress into a broker position and is a role that carries out duties in line with Aon Compliance and Audit Standards and within Aon Global standards.

What the day will look like
1. Reinsurance Placement & Client Support
- Assist brokers in the full placement lifecycle, including data analysis, documentation, market negotiations, and finalizing cover.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, providing technical input and supporting relationship management.
- Ensure client needs are met with high-quality service and tailored risk transfer solutions.
- To do Facultative placements as may be required from time to time.
2. Administration, Compliance & Operational Delivery
- Manage administrative tasks with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring data integrity and proper record-keeping.
- Support internal systems and processes and ensure adherence to Aon Re’s audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., actuarial, finance, claims) to resolve operational issues and enhance service delivery.
3. Learning, Development & Business Growth
- Engage in ongoing technical training and industry development. Share knowledge with colleagues, support junior team members, and contribute to business development initiatives.
- Assist with Reinsurance placements and support strategic growth efforts across the business.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
Qualifications.
- Grade 12 (matric).
- Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to analytical/numerical aspects, for example, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Accounts, Risk Management in Insurance or similar.
- Registered as a representative with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS Act.
- AIISA/FIISA qualifications are an advantage.
Knowledge.
- Strong understanding of insurance and reinsurance, preferably within South African markets.
Skills and Attributes.
- Respectful, analytical, proactive and collaborative, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Digital literacy with sophisticated proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to work within a team and to maintain good attitude at work and towards colleagues.
Experience.
- Proven experience in a Reinsurance Treaty role/s.
