Job Advert Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven Corporate Sales Executive to represent our full hotel portfolio, with a primary focus on acquiring and managing business from Corporate Companies, Travel Management Companies (TMCs), and Professional Conference Organizers (PCOs). This individual will play a critical role in building long-term relationships, maximizing room night production, and securing Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) business.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in corporate or MICE sales within the hospitality or travel industry.
- Solid understanding of corporate travel programs, TMC processes, and MICE planning cycles.
- Experience in contracting, RFP responses, and building strong B2B relationships.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and hotel PMS platforms; Opera PMS experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and building corporate pipelines.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with an ability to engage at all levels.
- High level of professionalism and presentation in client-facing interactions.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Self-starter with a hunter mentality and ability to work independently.
Duties and Responsibilities
Corporate & TMC Account Management
- Identify, engage, and manage key corporate accounts and TMCs to drive transient and group bookings across the hotel portfolio.
- Conduct regular sales calls, presentations, site inspections, and negotiations with key decision-makers and travel buyers.
- Support the contracting process for preferred agreements, volume-based corporate rates, and override deals through TMC partners.
MICE & PCO Business Development
- Develop strong relationships with PCOs to secure small to mid-size conferencing, meetings, and events.
- Proactively pursue MICE leads and provide proposals tailored to client needs, working in collaboration with the hotel operations and events teams.
- Represent the hotel portfolio at industry trade shows, networking functions, and client events.
Sales Planning & Reporting
- Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities and submit accurate forecasts and performance reports.
- Track and report on production by segment, account, and region to inform strategy and monthly reviews.
- Stay up to date with market trends and competitor activity to identify business opportunities.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with reservations and revenue teams to ensure alignment on client requirements and seamless service delivery.
- Contribute to the development of strategic sales initiatives
Working Conditions
- Office based in Johannesburg, Sandton, with regular travel to client offices, trade shows, and events.
- Occasional after-hours or weekend commitments may be required for events or hosting.
- National and possible regional travel as dictated by business requirements.
