We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Creditors Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our suppliers and service providers, ensuring that accounts are accurate, up to date, and paid within agreed terms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Match invoices, purchase orders and GRN’s
- Process supplier invoices and reconcile statements.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions.
- Prepare and process payments timeously.
- Prepare and process monthly payments for services.
- Maintain supplier relationships and respond to account queries.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in monthly reconciliations and reporting to management.
- Monitor and manage the supplier age analysis.
- Liaise with procurement and warehouse teams on GRNs and delivery notes.
- Support the finance department during audits.
- Process COD payments, Petty cash and Credit card purchases.
- Ability to cover the Debtors Clerk function when required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or equivalent qualification.
- Proficient in SAGE/ Pastel Accounting Software with a proven track record or relevant short course certificate.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Added Advantages:
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing, wholesale, or FMCG environment.
- Understanding of VAT, tax regulations, and payment processes.
- Familiarity with inventory systems and 3-way matching (PO, GRN, Invoice).
- Knowledge of internal audit and compliance processes
