Pupose of the role:
The Data Analyst—sales and marketing—is responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting sales and marketing data to drive strategic decision-making. The role delivers insights that optimise sales performance, marketing effectiveness, and overall business growth. The analyst will work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure data-driven decision-making and process improvements. This role is critical in enabling data-driven decision-making, optimizing sales and marketing performance, and driving business growth through actionable insights.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Advanced certification in Business Intelligence (BI), SQL, or Data Analytics is an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, preferably in a sales or marketing environment.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and data manipulation.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, Power Query, VBA).
- Knowledge of CRM and marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics 365).
- Experience with statistical analysis and predictive modelling.
- Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis is advantageous.
Duties and Responsibilities
Data collection, management and analysis
- Collect, clean, and validate sales and marketing data from various sources (CRM, ERP, marketing automation platforms, etc.).
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to track key metrics.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify sales trends, marketing ROI, and customer behaviours.
- Ensure data integrity and standardisation across all systems and reports.
Sales and marketing performance reporting
- Track and report on lead generation, conversion rates, pipeline velocity, and customer retention.
- Analyse sales performance by region, product, campaign, and customer segment.
- Provide insights into the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and channels.
- Develop forecasting models to predict future sales trends.
Process optimization and automation
- Identify inefficiencies in sales and marketing processes and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Support automation of reporting processes using BI tools and scripts.
- Collaborate with IT and CRM teams to enhance system functionalities.
Customer and market insights
- Reduction in manual reporting efforts (measured in hours saved).
- Number of automated reports and dashboards implemented.
- Efficiency improvements in data processing and reporting workflows.
Executive reporting and strategic support
- Provide executive-level reports and insights to support the Executive Head of Sales & Marketing.
- Develop presentations and data-driven recommendations for Exco and board meetings.
- Monitor key performance indicators aligned with strategic business objectives.
- Support strategic initiatives with data analysis, scenario planning, and forecasting.

- Experience in sales funnel analysis and marketing attribution modelling.
- Understanding of key sales and marketing metrics (CPL, CAC, LTV, etc.).
