Key Responsibilities
Financial & Cost Accounting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer accounts in the accounting system.
- Prepare and send customer invoices, credit notes, and monthly statements.
- Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up on overdue payments.
- Perform regular debtor reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Generate age analysis reports and provide updates on collections.
- Verify supplier invoices and credit notes, ensuring alignment with POs and delivery notes.
- Process payments via EFTs, cheques, and other channels.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve issues timeously.
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Manage cost accounting processes and general ledger entries.
- Perform banking and journal reconciliations.
Supply Chain & Procurement
- Process purchase orders accurately and on time.
- Liaise with suppliers and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Asset Management
- Maintain and update the fixed assets register.
Financial Planning & Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and report variances.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.
- Provide financial insights to support business strategies and decision-making.
- Coordinate external audits and support audit preparation.
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise a team of finance clerks and supervisors.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 (compulsory)
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field (mandatory)
- Articles of clerkship (advantageous)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant financial experience
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
- Proficient in accounting systems such as Sage, Pastel, QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills

- Solid understanding of GAAP and IFRS
- Strong analytical and financial reporting skills
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Strong knowledge of compliance and internal controls
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication (written and verbal)
- Confident team leadership and mentoring skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong proficiency in financial software and Excel
