The incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of Company wildlife management and conservation programs: The incumbent will work with Ecologists and Wildlife Conservationists.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Protecting employees and contractors in wildlife areas.
- Dealing with dangerous animals in the Plant and Operational areas.
- Daily checking of electric game fences.
- Daily monitoring of wildlife on Palabora’s property.
- Assisting with game capturing projects.
- Contractor induction.
- Assisting in management of conservation area and infrastructure in a sustainable manner.
- Studying, taking notes and reporting on natural happenings on Palabora’s property.
- Collecting samples and related information.
- Assisting with Palabora Copper wildlife management plan.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Matric
- Field Guide Association of South Africa (FGASA Level 1) minimum.
- National Diploma in Nature Conservation or equivalent (Advantageous)
- Snake handling certificate
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Off-road / 4x4 driving experience (Advantageous)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Big 5 environment with a Dangerous Game Viewing certificate.
