This is a part-time coaching position. The coach will be paid a fixed term contract according to their expertise and coaching level. The Girls’ College invites applications for the abovementioned position which will be available from 1 January 2026. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills and competencies to take on this position.
The requirements for this position are:
- A minimum of 2 years coaching experience at Open level.
- A competitive level (post matric) or coaching experience in a school, university or club environment is preferred.
- A professional Degree in Phys Ed, Sports Science or Sports Administration would be an added advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to fostering and building inclusiveness and diversity.
- An awareness of and willingness to commit to the school’s all-round ethos, co-curricular activities and pastoral approach
- Any staff member working within a school is required to have a sexual offender’s clearance certificate before employment can commence
- Must have a valid driver’s license
The role will include the following:
- Daily morning training sessions as well as one gala day per week
- Availability for all training and galas
- Be involved in the Learn to Swim program
- Coaching and management of a swimming team – Setting up team lists etc
- Working with other swimming coaches
- Individual and holistic development of students as social and high-level athletes
