Job Title: Human Resources Intern

Job Purpose
Freedom Stationery (Isithebe) is seeking a proactive and detail-driven HR Intern to join our Human Resources team.
The purpose of this role is to provide hands-on support to the Human Resources department by assisting with key HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, and compliance. The HR Intern will apply their prior HR experience to contribute meaningfully to day-to-day operations and ongoing HR projects, while gaining deeper insight into the full scope of HR practices within a professional, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
You will assist the HR team with a range of duties, including:
- Supporting recruitment efforts: job postings, CV screening, and interview coordination
- Assisting with employee onboarding and exit processes
- Maintaining and updating HR records and personnel files
- Assisting with payroll administration and HR reporting
- Helping coordinate training, learning, and development initiatives
- Supporting compliance, audits, and internal policy updates
- Contributing to employee engagement, wellness programs, and HR events
- Providing day-to-day administrative support to the HR department
Minimum Requirements
- A diploma or degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, or a related field
- Previous internship or practical experience in an HR role is required
- Good understanding of basic HR functions and labour regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail, with high levels of confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
