PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To develop, implement and manage the HRD function by ensuring that all operational objectives are met through liaison between Line Management and HRD.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 / Std 10 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent is essential
- Technical Engineering Knowledge is essential
- Assessor/Moderator Certificate is essential
- Trade Certificate is essential.
- ETDP Level 5 Qualification is essential
- Minimum of 3 years working experience in a supervisory position within Engineering environment is essential
- Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office Package) is essential
- Exposure in Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) and Quality Council for trade and occupations (QCTO)will be considered an advantage.
COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of the Mine Health & Safety Act
- Presentation and Facilitation skills
- Analyzing and problem-solving skills
- Labour management skills are essential
- Leadership, Supervisory and motivational skills are essential
- Ability to interact with stakeholders on different level is essential
- Must be able to work under pressure and in short notice during Section 54s
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with implementation of new technology by ensuring that employees acquire necessary skills and knowledge.
- Assist line management by implementing effective adhoc training interventions when identified (Follow-up training, Reporting & Recommendations)
- Manage, control and ensure compliance within the ISO and SETA requirements.
- Effectively manage and monitor all HRD systems.
- Communicate all new and changed standards and procedures to employees and line management.
- Conduct effective needs analysis with regards to client/line management processes and systems.
- Manage additional training for the prevention and uplifting of section 54s.
- Co-ordinate training related issues and any instructions and recommendations from the DMR.
- Manage all trainees to ensure that the experiential training process is effective
