PURPOSE OF POSITION
The purpose of the role would be to support our internal IT Department with data and systems management, to ensure network and computer set up, and to assist with hardware and software requirements and to support and assist staff with any IT related issues.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
o Hardware and Software Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for end-users, including desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
o User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, either in person, over the phone, or through remote assistance, to help them with IT-related problems and questions.
o Installation and Configuration: Set up and configure new computers, software, and hardware components. Ensure that systems are properly configured for optimal performance and security.
o Network Support: Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), including switches, routers, and access points.
o Software Updates and Patch Management: Install and update operating systems and software applications. Ensure that systems are up to date with security patches and updates.
o Inventory Administration: Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets. Track and manage equipment and licenses.
o Documentation: Keep detailed records of IT configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Create documentation for end-users and IT staff.
o Training and Support: Provide training and guidance to end-users on how to use IT equipment and software effectively and securely.
o Remote Support: Assist remote users with technical issues, often through remote desktop tools or phone support.
o Hardware Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on computer hardware, such as cleaning, hardware upgrades, and equipment repairs.
o Troubleshooting Server Issues: Identify and resolve server-related problems, such as server outages, network issues, and server hardware failures.
o Collaboration: Work collaboratively with IT team members and other departments to address IT-related challenges and projects.
o Stay Current: Continuously update knowledge and skills to keep up with evolving technology trends and industry best practices.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

o Min 1 years IT Technician experience
o Needs to know PC Hardware
o Needs to know most of the popular Software (Windows, Office…etc.)
o Computer Diagnostics
o PC/Laptop Setup
o Network installations, setup, and diagnostics
o Matric - a Must
o It related qualifications will be a bonus (CompTIA A+, N+, S+)
o Drivers License
o Own Vehicle - advantages
o must be willing to travel
