Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Junior Human Resources Practitioner to join our organization. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and expertise in human resources practices, policies, and procedures. They will be responsible for handling all administrative aspects of the HR function, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
1) Recruitment and Selection
- Coordinate and participate in the recruitment and selection process, ensuring a fair, consistent, and efficient hiring process.
- Conduct interviews, assess candidates' qualifications, and make recommendations to management on suitable candidates.
2) Employee Relations
- Promote positive employee relations by providing guidance and support to employees and managers on all HR-related matters.
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution in a fair and objective manner.
- Interpret and apply company policies, procedures, and employment laws to ensure compliance and fairness.
3) Performance Management
- Assist with the development and administration of performance management programs, including performance appraisal systems, goal setting, and employee development programs.
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees on performance-related matters.
- Support the implementation of performance improvement plans and monitor them effectively.
4) Benefits administration
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave schedules.
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure all documentation is filed and maintained appropriately.
5) Compliance and Legal
- Stay up to date with relevant laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with employment standards and labour laws.
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of HR best practices and industry developments.
- Provide guidance and support in the interpretation and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Requirements:
1) Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience as an HR Practitioner or HR Generalist, with a minimum of 1 - 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment equity.
2) Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with employees at all levels within the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in HRIS and payroll systems.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
