What are we looking for?
We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Maintenance Technical Assistant who can support our maintenance team by ensuring equipment and facilities run smoothly, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment."

The key responsibilities:
- Perform hot work tasks such as welding and torch cutting.
- Perform cold work including drilling, tapping, modifying, and assembling components.
- Repair and maintain air pumps, pipe systems, and carry out pipe fitting and plumbing tasks.
- Assist in workshop tasks and support fabrication requirements for ongoing projects.
- Conduct routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment failures to minimize downtime.
- Ensure preventative maintenance is completed according to the maintenance schedule
- Assist in the installation, servicing, commissioning, and repair of new and existing equipment.
- Assist with the execution and commissioning of project plans.
- Complete and submit job cards promptly after task completion.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including any recurring issues.
- Actively contribute to team discussions and provide constructive input to improve operations.
- Operate basic tools and machinery safely and effectively.
- Ensure tools are properly maintained and used in accordance with safety protocols.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and lean practices (training to be provided).
- Adhere to health and safety regulations by reporting unsafe conditions, equipment defects, and unsafe acts immediately.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines.
- Application of problem-solving tools and techniques (training to be completed).
- Implementation and practice of 5S workplace organisation (training to be completed).
If you possess…
Must-Have:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Trade Certificate in Welding.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing industry.
- Computer Literate in Microsoft applications.
- Chemical industry experience would be advantageous.
