Play Braamfontein is looking for a dynamic and detail-driven m arket and events manager to lead the coordination and execution of events and activations across our diverse hospitality and cultural venues. From high-energy club nights and street market to private functions and brand activations, you’ll be the driving force behind making it all happen - seamlessly, memorably, and with style.

This is a high-impact role that requires a sharp organiser, natural leader, and creative problem solver who thrives on juggling multiple moving parts and departments, from kitchen to bar, front-of-house to sound and lighting, and everything in between.

What You'll Be Responsible For
Venue Management: Oversee event operations across multiple Play Braamfontein venues including The Playground, Kitcheners, The Beach, Hugh’s Jazz Lounge and others.

Event Coordination: Manage the full event lifecycle - planning, setup, execution, and breakdown - for internal and external events.

Team Liaison: Coordinate with internal departments (Bar, Kitchen, FOH, Cleaners, Security, Tech) to ensure all roles are aligned and prepared.

Supplier & Partner Management: Liaise with external service providers including security companies, sound and lighting teams, event decorators, vendors and brand partners.

Market Operations: Manage weekly markets, vendor logistics, stall allocation, compliance, and trade readiness.

Compliance & Safety: Ensure all activations meet health, safety and licensing requirements.

Creative Collaboration: Work with the marketing team to bring themed events and brand activations to life.

Budgeting & Reporting: Work within event budgets, track spend, and report on outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS
What You’ll Bring
Proven experience (3–5 years) in event or market management within hospitality, nightlife, or entertainment environments.

Excellent coordination, time management and communication skills.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.

Calm under pressure and quick on your feet - a true fixer and problem-solver.

Strong network of service providers (security, tech, staging, vendors, etc.) is a bonus.

Passion for events, live music, food culture, and creating unforgettable experiences.

Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and non-traditional hours.
