As a Marketing Trainee at Moore Infinity, you’ll become part of our dynamic Evolution Team, supporting both internal and external campaigns. From crafting engaging newsletters and conducting market research to contributing to brand strategy and digital content, you’ll gain exposure to the full spectrum of modern marketing.

Learning Objectives
By the end of the WIL placement, the Marketing Trainee will be able to:
- Demonstrate the ability to draft and design an internal newsletter that meets branding standards.
- Conduct foundational market research and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Contribute meaningfully to the creation of marketing strategies and plans.
- Write clear, brand-consistent marketing copy for various channels.
- Coordinate at least one small-scale marketing initiative from concept to completion (with support).
- Analyse and report on basic marketing metrics to inform decision-making.

Minimum Requirements
- Completed Matric / Grade 12
- Currently pursuing a BCom degree in Marketing
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Internal Newsletter Development
- Collaborate with the marketing team to design and draft monthly/quarterly newsletters for staff and internal stakeholders.
- Source content (e.g., department updates, upcoming events, success stories) and ensure branding, tone, and format align with corporate guidelines.
- Support layout and basic graphic adjustments (e.g., inserting images, formatting text, applying templates).
- Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct primary and secondary research on industry trends, competitor activity, and target-market demographics.
- Compile findings into concise reports or slide decks, highlighting insights that can inform marketing strategies.
- Assist in maintaining a database of customer profiles, buyer personas, and market statistics.
- Marketing Strategy Support
- Work alongside the marketing strategist to brainstorm campaign ideas (e.g., product launches, promotional events, digital activations).
- Help outline simple campaign briefs, including objectives, target audience, key messages, channels, and KPIs.
- Participate in strategy meetings and note action items to track progress.
- Marketing Plan Development
- Contribute to drafting sections of the annual or quarterly marketing plan (e.g., situational analysis, SWOT, objectives, action steps).
- Populate template documents with research data, timelines, and budget estimates under guidance.
- Assist in setting up basic tracking tools (e.g., spreadsheets, calendars, simple dashboards) to monitor plan execution.
- Content Creation & Copywriting
- Write short-form social media posts, blog snippets, or website copy aligned with ongoing campaigns.
- Proofread and edit marketing collateral for clarity, grammar, and consistency.
- Support creation of basic visuals (e.g., selecting stock images, formatting layouts in Word or PowerPoint).
- Campaign Coordination & Reporting
- Help coordinate logistics for small events or promotions (e.g., booking meeting rooms, liaising with vendors).
- Monitor basic metrics (e.g., email open rates, social engagement) and assist in compiling weekly/monthly performance summaries.
- Prepare simple status updates for the marketing manager and suggest areas for improvement based on data.
