Overview of Position:
The focus for this role is to work closely with Account Executives located in Willis offices across South Africa to provide effective and efficient placement service delivery to existing clients and prospects of Willis.
Role objectives:
- Ensure adherence to Group Policies and Procedures including:
- Third Party Producer requests, Sanctions approvals, New Client Checklists;
- Placing file checklists;
- Ensure Compliance with Local Procedures and External Compliance Regulations
- Maintain diary system for renewal and problem resolution information
- Produce and ensure accuracy of Renewal Information Schedules, Acceptance Slips / Policy Wordings, and Renewal Premium Comparison Schedules
- Identify appropriate markets
- Ensure that Acceptance Slips are sent to and negotiated with market
- Interact with Willis Offices for overseas placements (where applicable)
- Ensure that firm order has been received from Account Executive before finalising placement with the market
- Place Policies accordingly (including SASRIA where necessary)
- Capture policies on the TIAL policy management system
- Ensure that the invoices are captured correctly on TIAL or the financial system
- Ensure that the WTW or insurer-issued Policy Documents have been received, checked and provided to the Account Executive within 30 days of inception / renewal
- Accompany Account Executive to client meetings when required
- Understand and discuss client’s requirements with the market, negotiate risks accordingly and obtain the best deal / quote, plus alternatives (risk covered and premium) from the market
- Maintain and develop market/underwriting relationships through excellent verbal and written communication with the market at all stages in the placement process
- Contribute to process improvements and effective utilisation of systems.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (matric)
- 5 - 10 years’ experience in the insurance industry, preferably in a broker role
- FSB recognised post matric qualification (NQF 4 or higher)
- Regulatory Exam (RE 5)
- Accuracy and attention to detail

- Ability to work independently
- Computer Literate in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Working knowledge of TIAL an advantage
- Sound technical knowledge of multiperil products
- Working knowledge of assets all risks and specialist products
- Must always be professional and able to interact effectively with all Stakeholders
