Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Audits: Plan, prepare and conduct 3rd-party food safety audits (ISO 22000/FSSC).
- Gather Evidence: Complete audit checklists and collect objective evidence.
- Compile Reports: Write clear, accurate audit reports with recommendations.
- Client Communication: Present audit findings and improvement areas to clients.
- Compliance Checks: Ensure adherence to NQA/UKAS accreditation requirements.
- Maintain Records: Keep accurate and complete audit documentation.
- Standard Updates: Stay informed on ISO/FSSC standard and industry changes.
- Team Collaboration: Work independently or as part of an audit team.
- Client Relations: Manage client expectations and handle audit-related disputes.
- Problem-Solving: Apply strong analytical and troubleshooting skills during audits.
- Time Management: Deliver audits within deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
- Travel Readiness: Willing and able to travel throughout South Africa and Africa.
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Bioscience or related field.
- Certified ISO 22000 Lead Auditor or FSSC 22000 Lead Auditor (including transition training).
- HACCP Certificate (minimum 16-hour course).
- Experience auditing food safety systems across the food supply chain.
- Maintained an audit log with Certification Body (CB) food audits.
- Exposure to or readiness for NQA CB witness audits.
- Proficient in Food Safety Management Systems.
- Strong report writing and audit documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Skilled in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- High level of professionalism, independence, and adaptability.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are advantageous.
- Ability to travel extensively and work across diverse environments.
