Duties and responsibilities:
  • Approval of Purchase Orders.
  • Create Purchase Orders on PeopleSoft Financials for the requisitions received from departments.
  • Close/cancel/amend Purchase Orders.
  • Obtain quotations when requested.
  • Handle enquiries from Suppliers and departments regarding the payments to
suppliers.
  • Relief of staff on leave.
  • Provide telephonic training to the campus users on how to create an e-requisition.
  • Supervise staff.
  • Assist with research relating to travel arrangements for the following
a) Alternative venues available and suitable for hosting events such as conferences, workshops
etc. organised by UFS.
b) Accommodation venues that offer affordable rates in line with UFS policies.
c) Means of transportation available to travel to isolated areas.
d) Different Airlines that operate in South Africa for different routes and their schedules.
Inherent requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or an advanced diploma/BTech degree/postgraduate certificate on NQF Level 7 in the field of accounting
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Finance in a Higher Education Institution.
Recommendations:
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials.
  • Relevant experience in Supply Chain Management.

Salary:
The annual remuneration package, including benefits is R447 323.31 – R562 750.48 per annum, depending on the budget available for the position, relevant work experience and qualifications.
