Job Title: Order Capture Clerk (3 months contract)
Purpose of the Role:
The Order Capture Clerk will be responsible for the accurate and timely entry of customer orders and uplift requests into the system. This role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth workflow and communication across the value stream, with a specific focus on key accounts and specialist orders. The ideal candidate will bring strong data accuracy, attention to detail, and a warehouse, logistics/supply chain background to maintain and optimize order processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Timeous and accurate capturing of all orders and uplift requests received from internal and external customers.
- Proactively identify and escalate issues or missing information to the Lead that may prevent seamless workflow or timely order fulfilment.
- Maintain constant, accurate communication with the value stream (sales, warehouse, transport, procurement, etc.).
- Prioritize and monitor Key Accounts and Specialist Requirement Orders to ensure service level adherence.
- Use order processing and ERP systems effectively to manage and track order statuses.
- Validate and verify order data to ensure data integrity and prevent fulfilment errors.
- Generate and share reports on order status, delays, and backlog management as required.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest process enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (logistics, customer service, procurement) to resolve order issues.
- Uphold compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and standard operating procedures.
Key Requirements:
Education:
- BTech / National Diploma in Logistics
- Matric
Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years in supply chain, logistics, procurement, or order administration.
- Proven experience in data entry, supplier/vendor maintenance, and logistics coordination.
Systems & Tools:
- SAP – Inventory and procurement modules
- Excel – Intermediate to advanced level (pivot tables, formulas, reporting)
- Other: MS Office Suite, basic reporting tools
