Professional Officer Infrastructure Planning

Requirements

• Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification that relates to

build environment or infrastructure planning (master’s is

preferred)

• Eight (8) or more years’ relevant experience within

local government environment specifically pertaining to

strategy development and infrastructure planning and

budgeting.

Key Performance Areas

• Lead the development of an approach/framework and

systems for co-ordination, planning, analysing, prioritising,

capturing, tracking and monitoring of infrastructure projects

to support decision making.

• Lead the review and refinement of Sector plans and

the prioritisation framework in support of spatial strategy

and other national infrastructure guidelines or regulations.

• Prepare and present reports in support of decision-making.
• Oversee and contribute to the institutionalising of

refinements,support systems, annual reporting and area-

based infrastructure co-ordination.

• Lead the development of tools that aid in identifying

efficiencies across sectors plans.

• Identify and develop recommendations to strengthen

sector planning and manage possible opportunities

and risks.

• Lead the mapping and development of a system for refining,

maturing and embedding sector planning, project preparation

and, ensure strategy and budget alignment.
