We offer the opportunity to a skilled, passionate and committed individual to join our exceptional team as a Restaurant Hostess.
Key Performance Areas:
- Guest Reception & Seating
Welcome guests warmly, confirm reservations, and manage seating arrangements to optimise guest experience and service flow.
- Menu Presentation & Information
Present menus, explain daily specials or beverage offerings, and answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and preparation.
- Customer Service & Assistance
Provide guests with information about the restaurant, events, or services; assist with special requests or needs.
- Payment & Billing
Operate the POS system, process payments accurately, and issue receipts.
- Complaint Resolution
Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating to management when necessary.
- Order Communication
Relay dining or order details to kitchen and bar staff clearly and accurately.
- Packaging & Takeaway Service
Assist with packaging food and beverages for takeaway orders, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
- Coordination of Service Staff
Support the coordination of waitstaff activities during service to ensure efficiency and flow.
- Reservations Management
Schedule and confirm dining reservations, manage waitlists, and track table turnover.
- Facilities & Standards Checks
Inspect dining areas, equipment, and supplies to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and conformance to fine dining standards.
- Training & HR Support
Assist in onboarding and training front-of-house staff; support HR-related activities as directed by management.
- Event Assistance
Support planning and hosting of special events, private functions, or themed evenings.
- Operational Support
Record service data, assist with ordering supplies, and support menu planning discussions when required.
- Food & Beverage Assistance
Assist chefs or service staff with food and drink preparation during peak service periods.

Qualifications & Knowledge Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Matric / Grade 12
- Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality, Restaurant Service, or related field (preferred)
Experience:
- 1–2 years’ experience as a Hostess, Receptionist, or Waitstaff in a fine dining or luxury hospitality environment
- Experience with reservations systems and POS software preferred
Knowledge Requirements:
- Fine dining service standards and etiquette
- Menu knowledge, including wine and beverage pairings
- Customer service best practices in luxury settings
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Event coordination fundamentals
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced fine dining environment.
- Requires evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Candidates, who are already residing in the Western Cape will have preference. We can only consider South African Citizens or applicants who hold a valid South African Permanent Residence. Applicants, who live in other provinces of South Africa still need to attend personal interviews and if requested to do any cook-offs, will do so completely at their own expense.
