Job Advert Summary

The National Sea Rescue Institute will appoint an experienced Retail Planner to plan and co-ordinate all aspects of retail planning and to enable the availability of clothing for NSRI crew and retail outlets.

The NSRI has 50+ stations, satellite stations and Lifeguard premises across a volunteer network spanning 1500+ volunteers.

Minimum Requirements

  • Tertiary degree or diploma in a relevant field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a planning environment, clothing/retail is preferable.
  • Quantitative skills
  • High level skills in computing (Excel etc.)
  • Attention to detail & accuracy
  • Adaptability, able to multitask and work in a fast-moving environment
  • Self-starter and able to work independently and in a team
  • Excellent communication skills for internal and supplier relationships
  • Proactive with a can-do attitude
  • Efficient with the ability to meet deadlines

Forecasting

  • Predict product demand using historical data, market trends, and customer feedback.
  • Regularly update forecasts to reflect changes in market conditions.
  • Consistently meet or surpass forecast accuracy goals.
  • Forecasting sales and financial plan across departments and revenue income streams.

Inventory Reporting

  • Monitor stock aging and perform a regular age analysis.
  • Report on sell-through rates.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid stockouts and minimize excess inventory.
  • Develop and implement restocking plans based on sales trends and seasonal demand.
  • Monitor inventory turnover rates and adjust orders to align with company goals.

Team Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to align demand planning efforts.
  • Facilitate regular meetings to discuss demand forecasts and inventory status.
  • Share insights and data with team members to support overall business strategies.

Data Analysis

  • Utilize tools like Excel, SQL, and business intelligence software to gather and analyse demand data.
  • Apply statistical models and forecasting techniques to generate accurate predictions.
  • Create detailed reports and visualizations to support data-driven decision-making.

Process Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies in the demand planning process and propose improvements.
  • Implement lean or other efficiency methodologies to enhance accuracy and reduce waste.
  • Continuously monitor and refine processes to adapt to changing business needs.

Retail Co-ordination

  • Work closely with suppliers to manage order placement and ensure compliance with pricing and minimum order quantities.
  • Track orders from placement to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate fulfilment.
  • Address any issues with suppliers to maintain a smooth supply chain.
