Job Advert Summary
The successful candidate will be required to conduct investigations in cases where theft, fraud, injury, malicious damage to property and/or other irregularities form part of an investigation.
Minimum Requirements
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- NQF level 5 certificate in Policing / Security Management or Incident Investigation
- National Diploma / Degree in Forensic Investigation will be an added advantage
- PSIRA approved Investigator licencing course will be an added advantage
- Tertiary qualification in forensic, policing or security management will be an added advantage.
- PSIRA Grade A registration
- Computer literate (MS Office package)
- A valid drivers licence and ability to pass Rand Water K53 test
- 2 years of working experience in the investigation environment
- SAPS or Corporate investigation.
- Experience within the SAPS as a qualified detective will be an added advantage.
Primary Duties
- Crime investigations - on receiving reports of a crime incident, establish details of the incident and determine if necessary to visit the incident scene.
- Investigate vehicle, theft and property damage incidents - Gather information at the scene and collect evidence and involve the person who reported the incident.
- Provide Risk Advise and information - receive “queries” from sections, liaise with relevant supervisor and investigate problems.
- Investigate and deal with insurance claims - verify the validity of claims and discuss with section head.
- Maintain Risk Control Database - Provide recommendations based on incident investigations and statistics.
- SHEQ - comply with all relevant SHE legislation and all organisational policies.
Knowledge
- Computer literate in Ms Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Presentations of cases
- Must be able to perform under pressure
- Maintaining a good corporate image in terms of neatness and presentability.
- Knowledge of Criminal Procedure Act and Criminal Law
- Knowledge of SHEQ Management Systems (ISO 45001; ISO 140001 and ISO 9001)
- Knowledge of RUBI system or similar incident management systems
- Crime trend analysis
