An opportunity has become available for a Supervisor: Sample Room to join the Prestige Clothing Caledon team.
Responsibilities:
- Create garment samples
- Responsible for garment construction
- Responsible for the final presentation of garment critical and perfect execution of sample garment critical
- Meeting with Pattern technologists to discuss patterns and construction
- Manage small team
- Create sample packs
- Pattern Reading
- Communication to the Design Centre
- Administration
- Cutting, sewing, and prepping fabric according to the requirements of each article
- Place order when requested on raw materials (e.g. threads, buttons, elastics, basis trims)
- Assist with multi-skill the production operators (new product)
- Denim capability upskilling
- Quality control for specific lines/ garments/ orders
- Ad hoc projects
- Reporting
- Investigating and implementing best practice related to Quality and Denim
Requirements:
- Grade 10 or equivalent
- Sample versatility
- Able to operate a variety of sewing machines
- Min 2-3 yrs. experience in a clothing manufacturing environment
- Min 2-3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
- Computer literate
- Ability to work on a wide range of sewing machines to complete different tasks Must be able to sewing all types of top and bottoms, woven and knitted fabric
