We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to manage and oversee the financial records across our group of companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage the financial records for multiple entities within the group.
- Oversee the processing of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
- Manage and oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and other statutory requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a group of companies or a similar environment.
- Relevant accounting qualification (e.g., Diploma in Accounting, BCom in Accounting).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Xero, or similar) and MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of South African tax laws and financial regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
