Requirements

• A minimum of National Diploma / 3 years Diploma, financial

accounting as a major subject.

• 5-8 years relevant experience required which includes 2 years

of supervisory experience.

• Computer Literacy – MS Office Applications.
• Driver’s license - Code EB.

Key Performance Areas

• Proactively assist the Head and management in identifying,

mitigating and containing compliance and performance risks.

• Facilitate the identification and reporting of material and

significant breaches or potential breaches of Council policy

and compliance standards.

• Assist with the development and monitoring of an effective

set of management systems that allow Energy Directorate

Management, departmental and branch decisions to be made

based on accurate, complete, up-to-date and readily accessible

data, information and reports.

• Track key performance indicator metrics and proactively alert

relevant line managers to the possible need for corrective

action.

• Assist with the establishment of a system to follow up and

monitor progress on delegated projects/tasks/assignments

and meeting resolutions.

• Scrutinize Council, Mayoral & Portfolio Committee minutes

and refer matters to relevant managers for their actioning or

information.

• Prepare non-technical reports and proposals.
• Assist with the screening of all reports as nominated by the

Director: Electricity Generation and Distribution and highlight

issues of possible non-compliance with legislative requirements

Council Policy, Organisational protocols/procedures and

applicable guidelines.

• Assist with the co-ordinating and verifying of all media releases

from Electricity Generation and Distribution and liaising with the

Media Office of the City.
