What is the role about
The Senior Workday Compensation Consultant is responsible for the configuration, implementation, and ongoing support of the Workday Advanced Compensation module, ensuring system reliability, performance, availability, and overall optimization. The consultant will partner closely with HR, Compensation, and Payroll teams to deliver continuous improvements, manage advanced compensation processes, and support Workday’s bi-annual release updates.
As a VR consultant, you will have the flexibility to manage your own day, as long as you meet your set objectives and client demands. Often your team will be a mix of on-site and remote based members who will connect using IM, video calls and an online ticketing system. Good communication skills and time management is essential for this role.

Our roles are remotely based (even pre-Covid), meaning you will be working from your home office, connecting with your client and team on a daily basis.
To be successful in this type of environment, you will need to have the ability to communicate effectively (in English) with cross-functional teams, explain complex concepts in easy, understandable terms, align HR / business knowledge with Workday functionality, and proactively drive process improvements. You will need to be comfortable with video calls and be proactive in keeping communication channels open with your client and team.
Job responsibilities
Lead and facilitate the design, configuration, and optimization of the Workday Advanced Compensation module.
Configure and maintain compensation grids, complex eligibility rules, custom bonus calculations, long-term incentive programs, and compensation letters (Workday documents).
Support core compensation areas including grade and grade profile configuration, compensation business process design, job catalog maintenance, earnings and compensation codes, clawbacks, and compensation plan creation/maintenance.
Gather and analyze business requirements for compensation processes such as salary, bonuses, and incentive programs.
Provide functional leadership and propose technical alternatives for resolving business and technology issues.
Manage annual and off-cycle compensation review cycles, salary adjustments, and related reporting.
Ensure system configurations are accurate, compliant, and aligned with Workday best practices.
Conduct unit and system testing for Workday Compensation configurations and integrations.
Must have Skills Required
Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience with Workday Compensation configuration (Advanced Compensation expertise required;
End-to-end Workday implementation experience across 5+ projects.
Proven ability to manage full project lifecycle from design through deployment and support.
Strong knowledge of HR transformation and large-scale HRIS implementations.
Attention to detail with the ability to balance strategic vision and practical problem-solving.
Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills with a track record of delivering commitments.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Fluent in English (written and verbal).
Strong oral and written communication skills to influence and deliver messages effectively.
Must have the legal right to work in the country of residence.
Workday certification is an advantage).
Other Qualifications/Skills that will be beneficial
Bachelor’s degree in HR, IT, or a related field.
Previous customer service experience.
Exposure to software design principles or relevant coursework.
Ability to set realistic expectations and lead development across Workday configuration teams.
Knowledge of estimation methodologies and project effort planning.
Strong time management and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
