The main purpose of the position is to provide application support to internal and external customers and resolve technical issues.
Job description
- Proficient in both written and verbal communication
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Capable of performing effectively under pressure
- Minimum 4years SQL working experience and knowledge
- Skilled in SQL, particularly PostgreSQL, primarily for executing "selects" for troubleshooting and reports.
- Familiarity with Procedural SQL (PL/SQL) is advantageous.
- Basic command line proficiency in Linux is a plus.
- Prior experience working in an international context is advantageous
- Familiarity with Excel (basic proficiency), with an advanced skill set as a bonus.
- Experience in the telematics field is a valuable asset.
- Familiarity with any ticketing system is a beneficial skill.
- Provide second-line support for complex technical issues escalated from Tier 1
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve SQL database issues, application errors, and system malfunctions.
- Create and optimize SQL queries, including troubleshooting complex SQL scripts and reports.
- Experience with vehicle camera devices would be advantageous
Minimum requirements
- National Senior Certificate/ Grade 12.
- IT qualification will be an advantage.
- Prioritise and manage multiple tasks and adapt to challenging situations.
- MS Office Package (Excel – Intermediate).
- Experience with Python or other automation tools to improve system efficiency.
- Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
- Knowledge of network configurations, firewalls, and VPN setups.
- Experience in system administration or network troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of IT infrastructure environment, Linux and SQL.
- Excellent communication skills, being able to convey complex and difficult issues both verbally and in writing to customers with varying levels of technical expertise.
- Experience in Professional Service Management tool.
