An exciting opportunity exists for a Transfer Pricing specialist to join our Transfer Pricing team, which is a specialist line of service within our national Corporate and International Tax consulting practice.

The role will provide you with the opportunity to help our global clients develop compliant, tax efficient structures that advance their business goals.

We are looking for a self- starting individual who is happy to take on responsibility in a dynamic team environment, with flexibility to work on multiple engagements on a simultaneous basis.

Key Knowledge and Skills:

Dedicated knowledge of, and professional experience in working with, Transfer Pricing methodologies, OECD guidelines and SARS’s Transfer Pricing documentation requirements;

Prior experience in managing and/or advising multinational entities on their related party and transfer pricing matters, including:

  • Transfer pricing policies;

  • Transfer pricing documentation planning;

  • Intercompany pricing arrangements between related business entities e.g. relating to the transfer of intellectual property, transfer of tangible goods, services and loans, and other financing transactions; and

  • Tax d ispute resolution processes , including dealings with SARS, Mutual Agreement Procedures and/or Advance Pricing Agreements.

  • Knowledge of corporate income tax, corporate structures, business value drivers and global developments in the field of transfer pricing and international tax.

  • Ability to provide bespoke advice of the highest technical standard in a clear and concise manner.

  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a deadline driven environment.

  • Well-rounded project and people management skills.

  • Ability to grasp, navigate and solve complex business problems.

Principal Accountabilities (KPI's):

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Prepare technical Transfer Pricing advice, planning and documentation, which add value to a client’s business;

  • Assist with the preparation of benchmarking studies;

  • Perform Transfer Pricing reviews as part of statutory audits;

  • Prepare exchange control applications and “fair and market related” reports required for exchange control purposes.

The candidate should posess the relevant professional experience within a Transfer Pricing context, to p erform certain mid-level managerial functions : Act as a relationship manager of a portfolio of clients against individual and team Net Revenue targets (depending on level of experience);

  • Provide on-the-job coaching and mentoring to more junior team members;

  • Perform technical reviews of draft deliverables prepared by more junior team members;

  • Report into a Partner / Director / Senior Manager (subject to relevant level of experience);

  • Project manage integrated consulting assignments , where frequent dealings are to be expected with (1) Subject-matter experts of different lines of services, e.g corporate international tax, indirect tax, customs, deals and/or audit teams, and (2) Subject-matter counterparts in foreign PwC offices .

  • Support the sales strategy of leadership;

  • Manage project economics (budgeting, billings and collections) proactively;

  • Ensure team adherence to internal risk management policies;

  • Keep abreast with the ever-changing tax landscape through relevant technical training;

  • Develop deep knowledge of bespoke PwC developed digital tools, applications and business processes.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Applicable degree(s) in economics, accounting, law, commerce and/or finance (NQF level 7) .

  • Postgraduate studies in Taxation or Economics (NQF level 8 ) will be advantageous .

  • Exposure to studies, training courses, seminars or task groups in the field of transfer pricing will be advantageous.

Experience:

  • 2-5 years relevant experience in transfer pricing and/or international tax , within a professional consulting environment .
