Job Title: Vehicle Camera & Systems Installation Technician
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot vehicle cameras, telematics, and aftermarket safety systems in the automotive industry.
- Ensure optimal performance and operation of all systems installed.
- Work in various sectors including automotive, construction, and mining.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of vehicle cameras, telematics, and aftermarket safety systems in a variety of vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct system diagnostics and fault findings for electrical systems and components in vehicles, trucks, LDVs, yellow equipment, and mining machinery.
- Ensure all installations and systems are fully operational and meet safety standards.
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete assignments in the field.
- Provide technical support and assistance to clients and colleagues as needed.
- Document all installations, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting steps.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction with timely and quality service delivery.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Strong automotive knowledge, particularly in relation to cars, trucks, LDVs, yellow equipment, and mining vehicles.
- Comfortable troubleshooting and resolving electrical system faults in various automotive and industrial equipment.
- Ability to use power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to work at heights when required.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
- Availability to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
- Strong attention to punctuality and meeting deadlines.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Proficiency with basic computer skills and the ability to work on a laptop.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Valid Passport (preferred but not essential).
- Valid Police Clearance.
- Medically fit to work in various field conditions (including mines and construction sites); a medical examination will be performed.
- Willingness to work out of town or country for extended periods.
- Ability to travel overnight and work away from home.
- Immediate availability for employment.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automotive electrical systems, vehicle cameras, telematics, and safety systems.
- A minimum of 5 years of driving experience.
- Contactable references from previous employers or clients in the industry.
