Animal Nutritionist

TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: Animal Nutritionist within the Grain Division (Mkondo Mill) at Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Drive the profitability of production through the control and management of production costs against budget
  • Meet production targets
  • Ensure that the final product meet the required quality standards
  • Manage stock effectively and efficiently
  • Ensure continuous improvement in systems and processes and the monitoring thereof
  • Ensure the safety of production staff and that safety and statutory requirements are adhered to at all times
  • Mentor, coach and training of production staff
  • Repairs and maintenance of production assets
  • Assist farmers and customers with technical information
  • Oversee general administration

Qualifications and Skills
  • Matric / Grade 12
  • BSc. Agricultural Science degree
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Experience in production and scheduling
  • Practical experience in a feed plant and knowledge of the equipment in the production process
  • Knowledge of quality controls and processes within a feed plant
  • Relevant technical knowledge of various production systems
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Being able to communicate in siSwati / isiZulu will be beneficial
  • Solid administrative capabilities
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong negotiation / persuasive skills
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to plan and provide clear direction
  • Problem solving and decisive decision-making ability
  • Excellent people and relationship management skills
