We require a highly competent Afrikaans FAL Teacher with solid subject expertise and recent experience teaching Grade 8–12. The successful candidate should be ready to start immediately and join our committed team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a suitable professional teaching qualification (B.Ed or PGCE)
- SACE registration (must include a certified copy of SACE registration)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching Afrikaans FAL to Grade 8–12
- Fully computer literate
- Excellent command of written and spoken Afrikaans and English
Preferred Attributes:
- Familiarity with CAPS curriculum (GET and FET)
- Proven record of strong classroom management
- Willingness and ability to contribute to extra-curricular aspects of the College (sport, cultural, clubs)
- Experience with IEB is advantageous but not essential
- Commitment to academic and personal development of learners
- Enthusiasm, flexibility, and teamwork skills
- Strong organisational and interpersonal abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver engaging Afrikaans FAL lessons for Grade 8–12, in line with curriculum
- Monitor and improve learner results
- Create an inclusive, disciplined and nurturing classroom environment
- Participate actively in the College’s extra-curricular, pastoral and professional programmes
- Complete administrative tasks (assessment, marking, reporting, progress tracking)
- Assist and support departmental initiatives
