Appraisal Economist

Requirements

Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification, preferably an honours

degree in Economics or Finance

Minimum of 3 years’ relevant functional experience
Proven experience in undertaking socio-economic

Cost Benefit Analysis (and related techniques) and

macroeconomic impact modelling on infrastructure projects

will be advantageous.

Experience in financial feasibility analysis of public sector

projects.

Demonstrated problem solving abilities and adaptability

across content fields.

Experience in the use of macroeconomic impact modelling

techniques.

Project and stakeholder management experience

Key Performance Areas

Collect, clean and collate data from line departments to

support quantification of benefits and costs in appraisal

analysis.

Apply specialised economic appraisal techniques, including

CBA, CE, MCDA and financial feasibility analysis, for key CCT

projects and policies.

Utilise impact modelling techniques to estimate the economic

impact of major infrastructure projects and plans.

Assist in compiling comprehensive socio-economic cost

benefit analysis (CBA) reports on major City projects and

policies.

Assist in the preparation of economic appraisal submissions

for Stage Gate Reviews, Budget Processes or Funding

Submissions

Undertake relevant research that would inform Needs Analyses

for Projects and the systemic monetisation of various project

benefits.

Provide project management assistance and engage

stakeholders to ensure the effective development of

economic appraisals and impacts assessments.
