ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/ SENIOR LECTURER (REF: A366)
REQUIREMENTS:
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
- Doctoral Degree in Law
- At least 10 years teaching experience in tertiary institution or 7 years professional experience in the relevant field
- At least 10 articles published in accredited journals, chapters in a book and book publication
- Evidence of supervision of at least 4 Masters/Doctoral students
- Knowledge and expertise in the field of public law, including procedural law is an added advantage
Duties
- To teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the Department of Public Law
- To demonstrate exemplary leadership in the Department of Public Law
- To conduct research and supervise postgraduate students
- To coordinate programmes, develop the curriculum and establish linkages with other academic institutions, government, non-governmental organisations and community structures.
SENIOR LECTURER
Academic route:
- Doctoral degree in Public Law
- Five years teaching experience in a higher education institution or seven years relevant professional experience.
- Three publications in public law in accredited journals or book chapters or a book.
Professional route:
- Master of Laws degree coupled with an admission as an attorney or advocate.
- Proof of Admission as an Attorney or Proof of Admission as Advocates including proof of admission into the pupillage.
- Candidate should also have ten (10) years post admission practice experience. Candidates appointed through the professional route will be appointed on a five-year contract basis with the provision that the appointment will be converted to permanent upon attainment of a Doctoral degree within the five-year period of appointment.
