Purpose of the role:
To manage the bar area of a restaurant Olive Grove Bistro at Durbanville Hills. The primary role of a bartender is to mix drinks for customers at the bar and prepare drink orders delivered by the wait staff.
Key responsibilites, but not limited to:
- Ensure high attention to all health and safety procedures.
- Responsible for stock count, stock rotation & controlling of stock levels.
- Verify age requirements of guest prior to serving alcohol.
- Understand alcohol pairing and tastes, knowing how to make traditional and classy drinks.
- Process payments on Pilot.
- Manage inventory and cleaning bar supplies.
- Manage and handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
Education & Experience:
- National Senior Certificate
- 3 years Barman experience
- Maintain a high level of standards and posesses a professional demeanour
- Self-driven, pro-active and motivated with an open mind and positive work
- Ability to multi task.
- Excellent communicatioin skills.
- Strong task and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.
- Able to work on weekends & Public holidays
