A leading bank is looking for a detail-oriented and strategic Business Data Steward to ensure the integrity and effective governance of financial data within Group Finance.
Key Responsibilities
Data Governance & Policy Enforcement
- Create and uphold policies for effective data management.
- Ensure accurate, complete, and trustworthy data collection and usage.
Secure Data Handling & Analysis
- Define and implement procedures for secure data processing and analysis.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data issues while ensuring data integrity and security.
Data Sharing & System Support
- Establish and monitor data sharing protocols across the business.
- Support business users in their daily interactions with data systems.
Financial Data Insights
- Analyze financial datasets to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
- Make strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders based on data.
Collaboration & Risk Mitigation
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support business growth.
- Proactively identify risks and implement controls to mitigate them.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Business, or related field.
- Formal data governance training or certification (e.g., DAMA) is required
Experience
- 3+ years in Data Management or Governance
- 13 years in Banking or Financial Services
- Strong understanding of financial principles and data regulations
Technical Competencies
- Proven expertise in data governance and stewardship
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, business-friendly insights
- Knowledge of banking data structures and compliance requirements
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
