Role Overview
GDS Consulting is Johannesburg based IT consulting firm that specializes in geoscientific data management and Managed IT services. GDS Consulting services include but not limited to Geoscience database management, server management, Office365 Management, Network Design & Support, Backup and Recovery and security solutions.
This role, reporting to the Managers, will be accountable for total sales and growth of the company’s products and services and driving the development of new opportunities in South Africa;
Duties and Responsibility
- Build up a portfolio of new customers using cold calling and prospecting
- Hunt, pitch, and close new clients to drive revenue growth. You’ll generate leads, build relationships, and convert opportunities into long-term partnerships.
- Identify and target new clients via cold outreach (calls, emails).
- Own the full sales cycle from first contact to signed contract.
- Build and manage a high-quality lead funnel using CRM tools.
- Track trends and competitor moves to refine strategies.
- Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities.
- Identify new business opportunities.
- Close sales and direct clients through the sign up and implementation steps.
- New Business and Territory development including customer expansion and development of existing key account base and product portfolio.
- Become a trusted business advisor to the client.
- Identify opportunities for brand exposure.
- Build continued commercial relationships with clients.
- Provide mentorship, knowledge-sharing and direction to the team.
Must Have Qualifications and Experience
- 5+ years experience as a Business Development specialist.
- Background in IT Services industry.
- Built up a portfolio of new customers using cold calling and prospecting.
- Builds relationships and networks with external stakeholders and potential alliances to maximize lead.
- Good presentation skills and proposal writing skills.
- Strong prospecting and cold outreach abilities.
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
- Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools.
- Proven track record in sales.
- Able to demonstrate sales call structure techniques and cold calling.
- Proven success in working towards targets.
- Always aiming to exceed expectations and surprise people with your ability.
- A hunter and strong sales background.
- Clear credit and criminal records
