We are looking for a skilled CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team in Epping 1, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for the setup, operation, and routine maintenance of our CNC machines.
Role Purpose: Expertly program, set up, and operate CNC machinery to manufacture components, specifically milling moulds out of aluminium, ensuring adherence to precise quality standards and design specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Precisely measure and verify calculations before machine setup.
- Accurately input relevant codes and parameters (e.g., feed, speed, cut, toolpaths) into the CNC control system.
- Proficiently read and interpret technical blueprints, diagrams, drawings, and work instructions.
- Safely and efficiently load and unload workpieces onto CNC machines.
- Continuously monitor machining operations, performing regular quality control checks to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Strictly adhere to all health and safety requirements.
- Diligently perform routine maintenance and machinery cleaning to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
Candidate Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a CNC Setter, CNC Operator, or in a closely related CNC machining role.
- Experience in CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW etc)
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code)
- Proven experience working with Mach3 CNC control systems.
- Hands-on experience operating 3-axis CNC routers.
- Strong understanding of machining processes and techniques
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- A high level of attention to detail, precision, and creative flair, particularly in design application.
- Willingness to learn.
- Own transport and ability to travel to Epping 1 daily.
