Title: EMEA Regional Controller
Overview
Our world class Accounting & Finance team at Hexagon's Mining division is hiring an EMEA Regional Controller. Reporting to our Senior Director of Finance (Controlling), The EMEA Regional Controller will oversee the financial management for our business operations within the Africa, Middle East, European region, with a primary focus on Africa & Middle East. This role will oversee the complete profile of legal entities in the region and be the expert regarding financial reporting and accounting in the region. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency of business processes, implementing control systems, and ensuring statutory compliance and upholding financial reporting standards and principles. With a focus on delivering exceptional results, this leader’s positivity, confidence, articulate communication, strong relationship building, and solid business acumen will support and complement our global team.
The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position based in South Africa
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department within the EMEA region, particularly focusing on African operations, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
- Guide financial decisions through the establishment, monitoring, and enforcement of policies and procedures.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of all financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Liaise with regional and global teams to ensure that the financial reports align with global business strategy.
- Management of Payroll inputs between HR and 3rd Party Service Providers, and act as the main contact.
- Management of Insurance Policies for the company and related parties
- Act as main contact and liaison with all banking partners – for all legal entities under scope.
- Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems to ensure optimal operation of the business to meet growth objectives.
- Support the FP&A team for the region by providing meaningful historical data and advice for the future based on business knowledge.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits, ensuring that the company is compliant with all international and Australian financial regulations and legislation.
- Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization, like evaluation of potential mergers, acquisitions, and investments.
- Work with local and regional leaders to optimize cash flow and improve overall financial efficiency.
- Work with the Shared services support center as appropriate, as the main point of contact and relationship manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. An advanced degree or professional qualification such as CPA, CFA, or ACCA is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience in a global organization with at least 5 years of managerial experience.
- Experience operating in the EMEA region, particularly in South Africa, Ghana and African Countries.
- Deep knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Strong understanding of tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements in South Africa, Ghana.
