Diamond Coast Abalone (PTY) ltd is a dynamic, growing company that farms South African abalone for the Asian market. The company has Ranching Rights in the Northern Cape region. We have an exciting opportunity available for a Dive Operations Manager to be based in Koingnaas / Kleinzee or its surroundings.
The primary purpose of the position
To effectively supervise and coordinate the activities of multiple dive teams across ranching sites to ensure safe, efficient, and timely execution of all underwater operations, particularly seeding, Harvesting and Monitoring in alignment with monthly production targets and company standards.
Key Performance Areas:
· Dive Team Coordination - Effectively coordinate and schedule dive teams, across various ranching sites. Assign teams based on operational needs and site priorities to maximize productivity and efficiency.
· Drive Achievement of Targets – Ensure that all dive operations are planned and executed in alignment with production objectives. Proactively manage team allocation, daily outputs, and timelines to consistently meet or exceed targets.
· Operational Execution Oversight - Manage daily dive operations to ensure they are conducted according to plan. Address obstacles in real-time to prevent delays and maintain momentum toward target achievement.
· Team Performance Monitoring - Monitor the productivity of dive teams and provide mentoring to Dive Supervisors. Address underperformance swiftly and ensure all teams maintain the pace and quality needed to reach seeding targets.
· Safety and Compliance Enforcement - Uphold a strong safety culture by ensuring all dive activities comply with safety regulations and company procedures. Take immediate corrective action when risks are identified, without compromising productivity.
· Reporting and Communication - Provide accurate and timely updates to the Assistant Manager regarding seeding progress, team outputs, and any operational concerns. Keep clear records of dive activities and daily achievements toward monthly goals.
· Equipment and Resource Coordination - Ensure dive teams are equipped with all necessary, functioning gear to perform their tasks safely and efficiently. Coordinate timely maintenance and distribution of diving equipment.
· Support and Develop Dive Team Supervisors - Assist Dive Supervisors in leading their teams effectively. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement to enhance output and operational excellence.
Minimum Requirements:
● Valid commercial dive Supervisor certification and valid diving medical certificate.
● Valid First Aid and CPR Certification.
● Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in a commercial diving operation.
● Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in a Project Planning.
● Previous supervisory or team coordination experience required.
● Strong understanding of safety and operational standards in diving activities;
● Valid driver's license and own transport to and from work is required.
● Good administrative and reporting skills.
● Excellent oral communication skills with fluency in English;
● Must be able and willing to work flexi-hours;
