About Us
Jicama 89 NPC is a registered NPO and Section 18A Public Benefit Organisation dedicated to supporting schools for children with disabilities, including visually impaired and special needs learners. Since 2007, we have worked with schools such as Sibonile School, Harvey Cohen Centre, and Isizwe Setjhaba SID School, providing essential resources, improving learning environments, and creating equal opportunities for all children.
Role Overview
We are looking for a driven, organised, and results-oriented Donor Relations Sales Representative to join our team. This role involves building strong relationships with donors, securing product and monetary donations, and managing the donor process from lead generation to successful contribution. You will work closely with our beneficiaries, sponsors, and internal team to ensure our projects and needs lists are fulfilled.
Key Responsibilities
- Search for and identify potential donor leads (companies, organisations, individuals).
- Make cold calls, send professional emails, and conduct follow-ups to secure donations.
- Review and work from Jicama 89’s project and needs lists to match donations to school requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of donor interactions, commitments, and contributions.
- Liaise with donors to arrange collection and delivery of products or funds.
- Work closely with beneficiary schools to confirm needs and report on donations received.
- Prepare monthly donor reports for management.
- Represent Jicama 89 professionally and uphold our values in all communications.
Requirements
- Proven sales, fundraising, or donor relations experience (NPO experience beneficial).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence in cold calling and lead generation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and able to learn CRM tools.
- Ability to work independently and meet monthly targets.
- Own vehicle and valid driver’s licence (essential for collections/meetings).
- Must be based in Johannesburg and able to work from our Darrenwood office.
