Job Advert Summary
The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient loading, transportation, and off-loading of goods as per company standards. This role requires strict adherence to route schedules, safety regulations, and operational guidelines to ensure timely deliveries. The driver will also be responsible for vehicle maintenance, inspections, and compliance with all road laws while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Driver’s License (Code 14)
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
- Minimum [3] years of experience as a professional truck driver
- Experience with loading, securing, and unloading cargo
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and compliance
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections and minor maintenance
- Ability to use GPS systems and follow assigned routes
- Strong understanding of fatigue management and driver wellness
- Experience in logistics, fleet management, or transport industry is advantageous

- Strong attention to detail for trip documentation and incident reporting

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Load Management:
- Ensure adherence to load weight standards
- Perform pre-load inspections for cargo safety
- Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or damage
- Conduct vehicle walk-around checks before departure
2. Route Adherence:
- Follow assigned authorized travel routes
- Report and record any route deviations or incidents
- Comply with road laws and safety regulations
3. Trip Management:
- Manage diesel fill-ups and fuel consumption tracking
- Adhere to scheduled stops and minimize unscheduled stops
- Report driver violations, incidents, and accidents
- Maintain accurate trip logs and job card records
4. Maintenance & Inspections:
- Conduct daily, weekly, and ad-hoc vehicle inspections
- Check and maintain tyres, brakes, lights, mirrors, and suspension
- Report any mechanical issues for repair requests
- Maintain cleanliness of truck and trailers
5. Personal & Safety Compliance:
- Wear correct PPE at all times
- Adhere to safe working practices
- Monitor driver wellness and fatigue management
- Follow company policies on chronic condition management
