We're Hiring: Early Childhood Head Teacher (Pre-Primary)
Are you a passionate and experienced early childhood educator ready to lead with heart and purpose? We’re looking for a dedicated Early Years Head Teacher to guide our pre-primary class of young learners at Jacaranda International Pre-Primary and School!
In this key role, you’ll lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning. With the support of a team of teaching assistants, you’ll create a nurturing and stimulating environment where curiosity thrives, confidence blooms, and every child feels seen and celebrated.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead Learning: Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with the British International Curriculum—fostering early literacy, numeracy, social-emotional skills, and creativity.
- Create a Safe Environment: Establish a warm, inclusive classroom that invites exploration, play, and meaningful connection.
- Support Growth: Conduct regular assessments to track student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Build Connections with Families: Maintain strong, open communication with parents and guardians—sharing updates, celebrating achievements, and working together to support each child’s development.
What You Bring:
- A recognized qualification in Early Childhood Education (or similar)
- A valid police clearance certificate
- A PAYE Registration Number
- A valid Driver's License and own transport
- Own personal computer/laptop
- At least 3 to 5 years' experience in leading a pre-primary or early years class
- A strong grasp of the British International Curriculum (or willingness to learn)
- A nurturing spirit, creativity, and strong classroom management skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Fixed Job Specifications:
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 17:30 (Full Day).
Lesson Planning:
- Weekly Lesson Preparation must be submitted two weeks in advance.
- Annual Term Planning must be finalised prior to the first day of each academic year.
- Attendance Requirements:
- Attendance at all Parent-Teacher Meetings and School Calendar Events is compulsory, regardless of the day or time they fall on.
Leave Structure:
- 1 week of paid leave per term holiday, on a rotation schedule.
- Full paid annual leave during the December School Premises Closure Period.
Team Contribution:
- Full engagement in collaborative planning, age-group meetings, and internal training.
- Adherence to school policies and the values of holistic learner development.
Professionalism:
- Commitment to punctuality, active supervision, and child safeguarding protocols.
- Compliance with internal administrative and academic expectations including report deadlines, incident reporting, and continuous feedback practices.
