Are you an experienced fashion Merchandiser who can build exciting ranges, manage the full product cycle, and liaise confidently with leading South African retailers?
We are looking for a proactive, detail-driven Merchandiser to join our Cape Town team — working across fashion accessories, sport, outdoor, lifestyle, and home categories.

We are an established and growing import company supplying major SA retail groups. We develop trend-forward product ranges in categories such as Fashion Accessories, Sport, Outdoor, Leisure, Lifestyle and Home — delivering exciting, value-driven products that perform in store.
What You’ll Do:
- Build full product ranges — from concept to delivery — across fashion, sport, lifestyle, and home categories
- Manage relationships with buyers and planners at key retail clients
- Develop products and supplier relationships in collaboration with our sourcing team
- Prepare and manage detailed landed costing calculations, ensuring target margins are achieved
- Lead sampling, approvals, and order planning — ensuring smooth flow through production
- Create and manage full critical path — keeping ranges on time and on budget
- Work with internal teams and Far East factories to manage production timelines
- Take full ownership of product delivery and manage any issues that arise
- Communicate clearly across all levels of the business — both internally and with clients
- Attend international trade shows and overseas comp shopping trips as needed
- Keep up to date with trends — preparing mood boards, trend reports and competitor analysis
Who You Are:
- 3+ years of experience as a fashion Merchandiser, Product Developer or Account Manager (essential)
- Strong understanding of the full merchandising process — range building through to final delivery
- Experience working with Far East/Asian suppliers and import timelines
- Skilled at budgeting, margin planning and landed costing
- Advanced Excel skills — plus Outlook, Monday.com, WeChat etc.
- Excellent organisation — able to manage complex projects across multiple deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication — able to liaise with clients and internal teams at all levels
- Comfortable with ownership and accountability — responsible for ensuring product delivery
- Commercially minded with a strong fashion “eye” and awareness of retail trends
- Diploma in fashion, retail, or merchandising OR equivalent proven experience
- Previous experience attending trade shows and/or comp shopping trips preferred
- Driver’s licence and own transport (required)
- Valid passport for potential international travel (required in future)
- SA citizen or valid work permit required
