- Responsible for the selling and merchandising of selected range of Saint-Gobain products in retail stores, actively engaging with retail merchants.
- Will be accountable in own area to establish a positive relationship with store managers and staff
- Will be accountable to actively implement merchandising functions to increase and drive the sales of Saint-Gobain products in retail stores to the end-consumer through:
- Work and interact across various divisions, internally, to promote the brand and drive sales of respective products within the retail segments, i.e. supply chain, product marketing, trade marketing and internal sales.
- Offer Saint-Gobain merchandising support to key retail customers within a specified call cycle as agreed with the Trade Marketing Manager
- Stock management – ensure that sufficient stock of listed products is displayed in pre-determined areas in order to avoid stock shortages and/or over stock. Provide input on trends and demand forecast to promote the sales of Saint-Gobain products inline with rate of sale.
- Ensure products are displayed in-line with display guidelines in accordance with Saint-Gobain store standards and inline with store protocol and guidelines
- Pro-actively identify new opportunities product promotions to drive sell-out;
- Monitor the brand and product imagery and communication to ensure brand integrity is maintained inline with brand and product guidelines:
- Offer technical support and product training to retail staff who will be selling Saint Gobain products on a regular basis on existing and potential new products.
- Provide information on consumer and/or competitor behavior in retail outlet in terms of new products, price, promotion, activation or any other activity impacting on sales, product expansion and in-store activity.
- Conduct live product demonstrations at customer sites, trade shows, or events.

This role requires an individual with matric and a valid drivers licence. Minimum of 2 years’ sales and merchandising experience.The ideal candidate must have basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, CRM tools, report writing) with excellent planning and organisational skills. In-depth understanding of product functionality, application and knowledge of industry-specific tools, techniques, and best practices will set you apart.
