The General Worker will assist in various tasks related to the operations of a petro oil and gas company.
Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and safe work environment, supporting technical staff, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Support:
- Assist technical staff in daily operational tasks.
- Perform manual labor tasks such as loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Support the setup and dismantling of equipment.
Maintenance and Housekeeping:
- Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspection of equipment and tools.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Participate in safety drills and training sessions.
Inventory and Supplies Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of tools and materials.
- Assist in the procurement and storage of supplies.
Team Collaboration:
- Work effectively within a team environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
Additional Duties:
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Adapt to changing priorities and tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Experience:
- Experience in the construction industry.
- Mechanical experience is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labor.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Reliability and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to extreme weather conditions and hazardous materials.
