Purpose of the Job
The purpose of the Grad & Youth Programme Consultant role is to adhere to and comply with the Shoprite Group’s strategic talent pipeline objectives by executing, supporting, and attending to graduate and youth development programmes. This includes applying programme frameworks, aligning to business capability needs, and utilising best practices to service internships, bursaries, and youth employment initiatives. The role is expected to report on programme outcomes, and escalate issues where necessary, while providing support to stakeholders.

Job Objectives
Programme Design & Delivery
- Comply with legislative and policy requirements in programme design.
- Align to business capability needs and graduate pipeline planning.
- Apply frameworks for graduate and bursary initiatives.
- Coordinate logistics for programme rollouts, including training schedules, mentorship structures, and induction plans.
- Execute programme delivery activities and support implementation teams.
Talent Acquisition & Engagement
- Conduct recruitment processes and execute targeted campaigns at universities, colleges, and youth platforms.
- Build relationships and work with academic institutions and partners.
- Promote the employer brand through youth-focused events and digital platforms.
- Provide information and guidance to candidates and stakeholders.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and report on programme performance, participant progress, and placement outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and process data for bursary holders, interns, and graduates.
- Conduct analysis of programme effectiveness and escalate concerns where necessary.
- Produce monthly and quarterly reports for leadership and compliance.
- Prepare post-programme evaluations and feedback sessions.
Strategic Development & Innovation
- Research youth development and graduate programme best practices.
- Gather insights and investigate opportunities to enhance programme impact.
- Contribute to digital tool development and utilise platforms for programme management.
- Support the integration of bursary programmes into broader talent and workforce strategies.
Qualifications
Essential
- Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Education, or related field
Experience
Essential
- +2 years in recruitment, youth development, or graduate programme management
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and programme coordination
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Proficiency in MS Office
Advantageous
- Exposure to recruitment platforms (i.e. Neptune)
- Exposure to FMCG or retail environments
