Are you passionate about making a difference and eager to learn how funding and donor relations work in the non-profit sector?
We’re looking for a Foundation Funding intern to support the organisation’s efforts in expanding and sustaining its donor base, with a specific focus on initiatives housed within the Centres of Excellence. The intern will assist in identifying funding opportunities, supporting proposal development, and maintaining communication with existing and potential donors.
What does FEDSAS focus on?
FEDSAS focuses on the development of competent school governing bodies. The organisation was founded in 1993 and has since grown into one of the most respected stakeholders in basic education in South Africa. FEDSAS supports the governing bodies of more than 2 000 member schools across all nine provinces and in diverse language and cultural communities. FEDSAS acts in accordance with the South African Schools Act of 1996. The Schools Act encourages both parents and learners to participate in the governance of schools, thereby affording school communities greater influence and control.
The chosen candidate will need to:
- Conduct research on potential funding sources and strategic partnerships
- Assist in drafting funding proposals and donor reports
- Scour databases & sources for suitable matches in funding with existing
- operations
- Help maintain donor databases and communication records
- Support the development of marketing and outreach materials for fundraising
- initiatives
